About us

Hi,

We're myfotowall.com. Located in Bradford, England, we turn digital images into full-size wall coverings. Our patented techniques allow us to scale and print images onto customised wallpaper for any size of wall with no perceived loss of quality.

We've been around for a few years, working for a variety of private and corporate clients; from Bentley Motors and Celtic FC to Centre Parcs and Au Trianon, Gordon Ramsey's restaurant in Paris. Click here to see some examples of our installations.

ScorpionGold
We came across ScorpionGold's MS Paint World project by accident. But when we saw it, and the YouTube community's reaction to it, we realised that we had found a new application for myfotowall.

Cyberspace isn't limited to 18-inch screens or 1600 x 1200 resolutions - it's limitless (well, almost). The only way that ScorpionGold could show the results of the last four years of graft was to create a small panning video, which doesn't do justice to either the scale or the detail of the creation.

So we contacted ScorpionGold and talked through our ideas. This site and our associated blog are the result, not finished articles, just first steps on a journey.

ComputerArt
On one level, this site lets you buy a copy of ScorpionGold's MS Paint World project, scaled to fit your wall using myfotowall's patented process. We will sell a little and ScorpionGold will make some commission.

But that's not really the point. The big question is, "Where do we go from here?"

We could open up the site to other artists, making their work available to buy in a similar fashion. But how would we choose the artists? A curator? An art expert? That's not us. We know how to scale and print images but it's not for us to exercise artistic judgement on content.

We could create a voting system and let the you and the rest of the viewership decide, something like myfotowall.com meets threadless.com.

Or perhaps we should work with some of the 2,427 "computer art" groups in Flickr.

Or maybe we just point to our standard myfotowall.com site and everyone can upload their creations and print copies for their studios, bedrooms and clients' boardrooms and reception areas...

In truth, we don't know. We have a solution to a problem but we're not sure where to take it. So we've set up a blog to start up a discussion and get your ideas. If you'd like to contribute, please click here
